The Contra Costa County Cities Citizen Corps/CERT Committee (C8) was formed by and for all Citizen Corps/CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) program managers and coordinators in Contra Costa County.

The goal of the Contra Costa County Cities Citizen Corps/CERT Committee is to advance the number of trained CERT teams, share information, promote public and governmental awareness of Citizen Corps and CERTand to assist in the establishment and support of CERT training programs, promote relationships between CERT programs, and ensure grant funding is distributed equitably across all Contra Costa County communities.

The mission of the Contra Costa County Cities Citizen Corps/CERT Committee (C8) is to promote the CERT program and enhance the level of preparedness across Contra Costa County communities which in turn will save lives and protect property during emergencies and disasters in Contra Costa County.

The Contra Costa County Cities Citizen Corps/CERT Committee (C8) shall work at being the professional organization in Contra Costa County and be recognized as the premier organization of CERT program management professionals.

The objective of the Contra Costa County Cities Citizen Corps/CERT Committee (C8) shall be to progressively improve the quality of the Citizen Corps/CERT programs across jurisdictions.
